Photoshop CS2 Lens Blur Filter
It’s amazing that Photographers can now rely on editing softwares to change or add effects on their digital images. One of the most exciting rendition of software from Adobe Systems is the Photoshop Creative Suite 2. It is a rich collection of effects, designs and applications for the print and Web workflows of professionals.
New to the Photoshop Creative Suite is the Lens Blur Filter. It is an interactive menu that lets users add an interesting visual effects to any image. Photoshop users can concentrate on images by adding selective focus to achieve a better-looking results. Mush like the trick you can do on a traditional camera, the filter can mimic the way a camera lens forms an optical image by twisting the lens barrel from sharp focus to out of focus.
The Gaussian Blur filter is the popular choice for most blur tasks, but that was before the introduction of the Lens Blur filter. If you want to make photographs look realistically out of focus, you can use the Lens Blur effect instead. The good thing about the filter is that you can experiment with it to see how it works. Even a novice with Photoshop CS2 can be a pro in fixing images. Because compared to the Gaussian Blur, the Lens Blur is far less complicated and easier to master.

I wonder why the Lens Blur filter don’t give desired effect I want in an image. But you’re correct when you said it is far less complicated then the Gaussian Blur.

True to its name, the lens blur gives the same effect as a camera lens in that it gives a destracting background a nice soft focus.
