2006 Scrappy Awards

Yoohoo! Calling all scrapbook enthusiasts and digital aficionados out there! Now is your chance to show off and brag your creative talents to the world through the first annual Scrappy Awards. This event is brought to you by none other than Photoshop Elements.

I have to commend Photoshop for this effort. It’s not everyday that you get to hear something like this and one that’s sponsored by one of the coolest digital tools around. With more than $10,000 worth of prizes and the free contest registration, what has one person got to lose, right? If only I had the bragging rights as a seasoned scrapbook maker, I would have swallowed my pride. On the other hand, maybe I should just tell this to my female friends who can join and then, they could commission me to do some tweaking here and there…

Anyway, contestants have the freedom to choose among the categories they wish to enter. They can make scrapbooks based on fun holidays, patriotism, sports, graduation, family, romance, wedding, pet, babies, or travel. Of course, they must be able to apply Photoshop Elements, but there’s no skill involved so even if you’re just starting out with the software, you’re eligible. It’s pretty easy to abide by file requirements, too — 300k max and jpf, gif, png formats are all welcome. The sweetest thing, in my opinion, about this whole thing, are the non-cash prizes. You name it: digicams, software packages, CDs and DVDs, autographed technology books, and other awesome items. Now, there has got to be someone I know who should enter this promo before June ‘06 ends.

I’m not too hot on the scrapbooking either. I just don’t have the patience. But I have to agree, the prizes are way too cool to be missed.

Oohh! I love this idea. I’m thinking if I should enter.. but maybe.. yes, I should enter. There’s no harm in trying and besides, I would like to enhance my scrapbooks and skills.
