Using vector art in your Adobe Photoshop is quite intricate, but I will simplify everything for you because this is an excellent design for web templates or graphics portfolio. In vector art, you can use any image that you want. You can also use any movie characters like the outrageous Chicken Little or Super Man. Just be sure that you won't be using them for commercial use because you will have to pay for its rights.
Monday, May 14. 2007
1) Choose any image that you like. 2) New canvas with any size of your choice, and select the color of your background. 3) Right click on your image and "Select Layer Transparency". 4) Click on Windows tab and select Channel button. 5) Fill the image with a white using the paint bucket. 6) Right click again on the image and "Deselect". 7) You can blurr the image, afterwards go to "Filters," select "Pixelate," choose "Color Halftone". Make your radius 11 pixels. Right click on the image and "Select Layer Transparency".

Vector art is a good business investment. You can express your creativity and make new images that are good for commercial products like Coca-cola, Chocolates, or Malls. Take a picture of the product and style it vector art. You can add a simple slogan on it so to make it like an ad. This way you can collect your creations as a portfolio and present it to ad agencies. You don't know you might get a fat cash out of it.

Get that old chest where your mother stores all your pictures. Remember a photograph of you splashing in the tub? How about your pictures at the park or other special moments like your parents' wedding photo or their honeymoon trip? Today, we will experiment how you could add a little lift and style to those old and torn pictures using Adobe Photoshop's Grayscale.
Tuesday, May 8. 2007
Graphic artists use Grayscale as their secret weapon to combat the ancient look of an old photo. Aside from refreshing the old memories, their basic goal is to make them look as new as possible without losing the classic aura. This is the function of Grayscale. It retains the aura of the period of time when the picture was taken, as well as add a vintage look for added interest.
Monday, May 7. 2007
You can find Grayscale in the "Edit Image" tab. Select "Levels" and then "Grey Scale." The pictures will automatically lose its color (if it has) and transform the picture's look into black and white or in gray. Also, you can manually balance the level of Grayscale by selecting "Levels" from "Edit Image" tab. Select the tab "Brightness" then drag the moving object to either brighten or darken your picture.

The Great Wall of China is a fascinating and magnificent sight to behold. The wall was created to prevent barbarians and other citizens from entering the country illegally. I hope the United States will also have such a great wall. Anyway, you can also make your own great wall for your webpage by using the concrete powers of Adobe Photoshop. But remember, this is not a firewall security system that will repel virus and spyware. Your wall is simply an authentic design.
Saturday, May 5. 2007
First off, create a file in RGB 57 using your Paint Tool. Go to the menu: Filter-Artistic-Sponge, then create graphic patterns to give your wall a dirty look. But please don't put too much dirt or else your wall would look like a breeding ground for bacteria. After besmirching your wall, the next step is inverting the image by pressing "Control" plus the letter "I". Your wall should now have the camouflage look. Camouflage here means a bit grayish with patches of white.
Friday, May 4. 2007
To create the brick effect for your wall, go to the image menu: Filter-Artistic-Underpainting and select brick for the texture and bottom or below right for the lighting. Press "Control" and the letter "I" to bring the wall to its normal colors. Proceed to the menu: Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask to reduce the white patches on the wall. There you go, kid! I hope your wall will be as beautiful and as durable as the historic Great Wall.

I've seen many websites in the net that use wood as their background. Most of them are web sites for furniture shops, forests, termite hunters, and illegal loggers. I find the background classy and sophisticated especially when the wooden background has a smooth and slick finish. Wood is a very indispensable element on earth, you know. Wood is an essential part of the Chinese astrology. For our Asian brothers, it gives birth to fire and suppresses the earth.
Wednesday, May 2. 2007
Creating a wooden background is child's play. First, make a file in RGB using 200 x 200 pixels then fill the layer with Brown as your official color. Go to the image menu: Filter-Noise-Add Noise, and put 60 as the amount of your noise. Proceed to the menu Filter-Blur-Motion Blur then select 0 for the angle, and 314 for distance. Put some noise again then set the amount to 8.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Put some design on your floor to make it more realistic. Via the radial marquee tool, create an oval or round shape on your image. Go to the menu: Select-Feather then set the feather amount to 10. Proceed to Filter-Distort-wave to make your knot a bit hazy. Then go to the menu: Filter-Sharpen-Sharpen Edges to make your knot appear sharp and real, then press Control and D to deselect the image.

Ice Age movie is among the craziest flicks I've ever seen. Can you imagine a sloth, a mammoth, and a saber-tooth tiger living together as best pals? Anyway, I like the flick because of the text effect that they used for the posters.
To create the frozen text style, dig this:. First, we make a document and set its foreground color as #336EA7. Then we type a text in the middle to provide some space above and below the screen. Rasterize the layer of the text by right clicking on the layer then choosing the Rasterize box. Proceed to the Image Menu: Image-Rotate-90CCW, then apply the wind style in the filter via Filter-Stylize-Wind and set "wind", "from right".
After applying the filter, we rotate our image in its original position. Duplicate the layer and then apply blur style through Filter-Blur-Motion Blur-90, and set the distance to 45. Using the eraser, we eliminate the excess blur on the upper part of our text. We click on the duplicate image layer then press CTRL-E to merge our layer. For the final touches, we use the Image Menu: Filters-Stylize-Fund Edges. You can now use this special effect to give your pictures and posters a unique look that will not melt.

A tattoo definitely looks cool but if you're like me who's afraid of needles and who thinks coolness cannot justify the pain from the process than Photoshop can help. Here's a simple tutorial that you can do on your own to score that tattoo that you've been dying to place on your skin. But don't expect that you'll actually get a tattoo, at least you can gauge early on if a tattoo looks good on you or not.
First, open your image (choose one that shows sufficient skin to work on). Create a new layer and place an existing design that has a transparent background. You can also use the type tool if you just want a groovy text tattoo. Arrange the design whichever way you like so that it looks natural. To do that, press CNTRL + click on your tattoo design layer. Go to Select -- Modify -- Border. Use a Border value which commensurates to the size of your image. With the border selected, Copy and Paste the border on another layer. On the border layer/outline, select Filter -- Blur -- Gaussian Blur. Adjust the amount depending on the image size. Lastly, make the tattoo layer visible and decrease its opacity to make the outline standout. You can also colorize your tattoo after making the outline, go to Image -- Adjustment -- Hue/ Saturation and colorize the main tattoo layer. Voila, your first tattoo!

I love incorporating cartoon elements in most of my photoshop designs. My artworks usually contain different colorful and fun looking characters and shapes that go with some of my flashy and artistic projects. Creating floating bubbles is one of my favorite cartoon lay out tricks that I always use for my designs. Here's how I manage to do it in Photoshop.
First, you need to select the new file options in Photoshop and set it into a 600x600 pixels dimension. Name the new layer as "bubble trick". Afterwards, select an elliptical marquee tool and draw a circular shape to form a bubble. Add your desired color to your bubble, then press CTRL + D so you'll be deselecting circular selection. Then, you need to right click on the bubble layer and choose blending from the options list. When you finish doing so, the bubble should contain a dark cartoonish lining surrounding it. On the other hand, you can also put highlights on your bubble to further enhance its cartoon effect. You will be using the polygonal draw lasso tool in creating highlights.
When you finally finish with both highlight and bubble layers and you have merged them into a single graphic design, you may be able to copy the bubbles anytime you want. With such simple steps, you have a series of cool looking cartoon bubbles that are prefect for your colored, fancy projects and even in your creative web designing tricks.

Using the Replace Color command in Photoshop, users replace specific colors in an image by creating temporary masks. This mask does no change the whole image but rather the selected area only. In the Replace Color dialog box, you can locate different options which you can adjust like saturation which pertains to the purity of the color; hue which pertains to the color and lightness which pertains to how much white or black is in the image. Here's how to do the trick.
Click on the Rectangular Marquee tool and draw a selection border on the area of the image which you wish to replace color. Got to Image – Adjustments – Replace Color. This command will open the Replace Color dialog box. The selection area in the box will display a black rectangle which represents your current selection. Then choose the first of the three Eyedropper tools in the box. This is the single-color Eyedropper tool. Click the selected area. Then select the Eyedropper Plus Tool, again in the box, to select the other areas in the image until it is highlighted in white in the dialog box or use the Eyedropper Minus tool to fix any imperfection. Adjust the Hue, Saturation and Lightness to your preference. Clicking OK will save the changes. Lastly, save your work by choosing Select – Deselect – File – Save.
There's a lot of effects that could be made using your Adobe photoshop. This is just one of the most commonly used effects. The instructions that would be found are just some of the basic and it is not intended to be a detailed step-by-step procedure. This kind of effect is primarily filter based, but it would look really wonderful on your internet web page or wherever you would want to place it.
Once you have reset both the back and foreground to white and black, click on 'clouds' which could be found under Filter>Render. Click on Difference Clouds and duplicate it twice. The next step is to go to 'Add Noise' and apply 3% with a 'Gaussian' distribution. Click the check box for 'Monochromatic' and click OK. Go to 'Motion Blur' and change the settings accordingly. Bring out your 'distorting tool'. You should be able to see 8 nodes on your screen now. Move them so that you create an inverted trapezoid figure. Make a new layer by repeating the steps mentioned above. Modify the blending to 'overlay' and bring the opacity down to around 30% depending on your desired output. Merge the two layers.
The rest of the procedures are basically for the personal touch that you might want to incorporate into the background effect. You could change the colors, distort the images and stuff, but you would basically get the same effects. Don't be scared to play around with the image.

The Layer Styles Menu is probably the most fun that you can get with Photoshop Layers. The Layer Styles are cool special effects that you can apply to an entire layer including textures, lighting effects, and overlays. It's where you can give an image various effects like drop shadows, glows, outlines, embossed look, and a lot more. Double-clicking on any layer will open the Layer Style Menu. In the menu, you can select the Drop Shadow Tool. You can play with the settings and watch the image take on a chameleon look as it changes drastically. You can also combine effects; you can give an image a shadow and a glow at the same time. Another thing, you can drop shadow, inner shadow, bevel, and emboss altogether. You can combine different layer styles in a single layer to create a unique and dreamy effect.
You can likewise try the Type Layer. Select the Type layer by right-clicking on the layer and choose the blending modes. You can also ship pre-done effects and manipulate them with your creativity. Remember that the layer styles affect the entire layer. If you want to separate a certain object in the image, you have to put it in its own layer.

An interesting new tool in the tPhotoshop CS2 is the Vanishing Point tool. This spin-tingling tool lets die-hard Photoshop fans clone, paint, and transform boring images and remove unwanted objects in a photo while keeping faithful to the visual perspective. I used this once to trick my colleagues and it worked! Of course, afterwards, they insisted on letting them in on the secret. Well, this is available under the versatile Filter menu. When you think a picture needs improvement, this tool is likely going to be your best choice.
In the Vanishing Point dialog box, you can find the Create Plane Tool. This lets you define the perspective planes of the picture you want to work at. Simply click four points in the image to create a grid. If you have chose a correct perspective, the grid will appear blue, otherwise it will be in color red or yellow. Don't rush and take your time because you have to be more than accurate so don't stop clicking.
After getting your perspective grid right, the next thing you do is to edit the image using the marquee, clone, or paintbrush tools. When you have copied the marque selection, you can click one of the Heal options. This tool seamlessly fades the copied selection into the whole image.

If you want to create a rain effect on your photos, Photoshop is making that a walk in the park. And it's not yet another Photoshop effect, it's called the rain effect. Just follow this simple tutorial that gives an artificial rain effect to any image using Photoshop CS.
First, open an image in Photoshop. Add a new layer in the layers panel by clicking the fifth icon. After having selected a new layer, click Filter – Render – Clouds. Set the Opacity to 63%. The Opacity function is found on the top right of the layers panel. Then , click on Filter – Noise –Add Noise. Set it to 60% and click Gaussian and Monochromatic. What you get are grains in your image. But don't panic, these grains will turn into rain drops a little later.
Then click on Filter – Blur – Motion blur. When the window pops up, adjust Angle to 73 and Distance to 10. You can try to experiment to see a more acceptable setting. Lastly move your mouse in the Layers panel. Set the blending mode for the layer found in the drop down menu on the top left of the panel. Set the Blend Mode to 'screen.' Alas, rain effect!

Don't you just love black and white photos? Photos that lie with their colors, photos that lack life and photos that have been the product of old times. For their simplicity, they look boring to the eyes. If you think you need to retouch your B & W photos, then you need to get a load on this Photoshop tutorial. Make it look more alive and with nothing but your eye for color, your photos will look better.
Open an image in Photoshop, whatever size and format. Make sure that the tonal range and clarity are well adjusted. Go to Image – Adjustments – Brightness/Contrast. Next covert the image to RGB color through Image – Mode – RGB Color. Add a new layer on top of the image, by going to the layers palette. Afterwhich, change the blending mode to color. Select the Brush tool and adjust the opacity to 100%. Using the new color layer in the layers palette and with a suitable color that you have selected, paint it on the image. Adjust your Brush tool if necessary. To add darker tones, use a solid black tip for the brush and white tip for lighter tones. You need to focus on your work, so spend a little time on the finest details.

The beauty of nature is very much characterized in dramatic pictures that we see in books, magazines and the Internet. One of the hardest to capture is lightning but when you see the outcome, you'll be amazed just how beautiful this natural display can be. But, put aside the beauty that it has, capturing lightning in photographs can be really dangerous. Did you know that lightning temperature is even hotter than the surface of the sun? If it's hot then it could be potentially fatal once it hits you.
But if you want to get up close to a lightning, why not try creating one at home? I mean it, you can make a lightning all your own -- using Adobe Photoshop. With Photoshop you can easily create simple lightning effects no sweat.
Here's how to do that lightning trick. First open a new file with white background and at least 400 x 400 pixels. Then set your foreground color to white and background color to black. Next, go to FILTER - RENDER – CLOUDS. Go to Image - Adjustments - Levels. Lastly, go to Image - Adjustments - Color Balance. The good thing about this trick is that you can play with it until you achieve the best desired lightning effect.

The amount of transparency found in a particular layer is referred to as opacity. This Photoshop function is a very powerful tool in that it can hide or blanket objects and images on top of each other. At the same time when these layers are in top of each other you can still change their opacity to come up with more dramatic effects. When an image is 100% opaque, you cannot see through it. However, when you set the opacity at 50%, then the image is a bit transparent allowing the background image to be seen.
How can you adjust the opacity of an image? The opacity option is located in the Layers Palette. Controlling the opacity level of the image is as easy as using your computer mouse to move the opacity slide control. You can likewise numerical digits on your keyboard. When you tap 1, the opacity is 20% or 0 for 100% and so on or use two number to set the opacity to a more precise level.
You can work your way out through the opacity range and see how your image turns out. If you want to experiment on the color and sharpness of the whole image or just a chosen area, then you may do so.

The birth of digital cameras also launched the hottest craze in taking pictures, which is digital photography. For amateur and professional photographers, using the highly defined camera enable them to take shots of their chosen subjects as much as what their gadgets can load. It became much practical for them as far as time and money is concern since they don't have to rush to the nearest photo supply to buy a film and the risk of exposed pictures is very impossible with the cutting edge gizmo.
However, the problem encountered by most digital cam users is how to organized the pictures they have taken based on their categories or topic or subjects. Although the cams can take in pictures in huge volumes, it became harder for them to sort out the pictures and put them in their proper file. Though I'm no professional photographer and I don't take pictures for a living, I became an avid fan of these gadgets and have had experienced the same problem with regards to categorizing pictures. Thankfully, we already have Adobe Photoshop Albums available to help us manipulate our digital images.
Although we have more updated versions of Adobe Photoshop Albums, I'm still a supporter of Photoshop 2 since it's more user-friendly and I'm no computer wizard also. After taking pictures, I just connect my camera to my Toshiba portable laptop and the software would impressively load and store my pictures in the system. Since I just do photography for a hobby and I don't want to complicate things, I just put tags and attach them to my image files, like a set of tags for pictures during my vacation in South Africa. Even first timers in digital photography would find the Album easy to use, like if they want to display the shots taken during their honeymoon in Mt. Everest, they just click on their Freezing Honeymoon tag and it will emblaze their photos with that tag.
